    Description

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and intermittently improving our current network configuration and infrastructure. You will design our revamped network infrastructure with the goal of maximizing our network performance. You will also provide troubleshooting and configuration support by using your strong technical skills in Linux and Windows environments and IP networking.

    Designing and Implementing Network Infrastructure:

    One of the primary responsibilities of network engineers is to design and implement robust network infrastructures. They analyze organizational needs, assess network requirements, and propose solutions that align with business objectives. They handle the selection, installation, and configuration of network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Network engineers are also responsible for ensuring network scalability, performance, and security.

    Troubleshooting Network Problems:

    When network outages or performance issues occur, network engineers are the frontline responders. They employ industry-standard troubleshooting methodologies to diagnose problems, identify root causes, and resolve issues promptly. From identifying faulty network devices to implementing corrective measures, they strive to restore connectivity and minimize downtime. Network engineers are skilled in analyzing network traffic, packet capturing, and using advanced diagnostic tools to solve complex network problems efficiently

    Network security is of paramount importance in today's world, given the increasing threats and vulnerabilities. Network engineers are responsible for designing and implementing robust security mechanisms to protect the organization's valuable resources. This includes configuring firewalls, implementing secure remote access, setting up intrusion detection and prevention systems, and conducting security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards. They must stay updated with emerging security threats and constantly adapt network security measures to counter evolving risks.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area
    • 5 to 15 years' of experience with network administration
    • Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals
    • Must be CCNA certified.
    • Experience from oil and gas, engineering, construction industries would be preferable.
