    Job Purpose:

    This role will be responsible for overseeing the risk assessment process, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and implementing effective risk management strategies. The role requires a strong understanding of risk analysis, portfolio management and the ability to make data-driven decisions and managing and mitigating risk exposures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Portfolio Management:

    • Monitor the credit portfolio to identify emerging risks and trends.
    • Implement strategies to optimize the risk-return profile.
    • Work closely with business units to ensure the alignment of risk policies with overall business objectives.

    Regulatory Compliance:

    • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements related to risk management.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing risk in the financial industry.

    Risk Mitigation:

    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential losses.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address risk issues proactively.

    Reporting and Analytics:

    • Prepare regular reports on risk metrics and portfolio performance for senior management and regulatory authorities.
    • Utilize data analytics tools to derive actionable insights and improve risk management strategies.

    Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor a team of risk professionals, providing guidance and support.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the risk team.

    Model Validation:

    • Oversee the validation of risk models to ensure their accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with the model validation team to assess and validate scoring models, probability of default (PD) models, and other credit risk-related models.
    • Implement improvements and adjustments based on model validation feedback and findings.

    Stress Testing:

    • Design and execute stress testing scenarios to assess the resilience of the credit portfolio under adverse economic conditions
    • Analyze stress test results to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to address them.
    • Work closely with quantitative analysts and risk managers to enhance stress testing methodologies.

    Business Rule:

    • Develop and maintain robust business rules for risk management, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory guidelines.
    • Regularly review and update business rules to adapt to changing market conditions and risk profiles.
    • Collaborate with business units to implement and enforce business rules effectively.

    ECL Validation:

    • Oversee the validation process for Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models used in financial reporting.
    • Ensure that ECL calculations align with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to validate ECL assumptions and inputs.

    Monthly Risk Metrics Tolerance Limit Validation:

    • Establish tolerance limits for key risk metrics and ensure that they are within acceptable ranges.
    • Conduct monthly validation of risk metrics, including but not limited to PD, LGD (Loss Given Default), and EAD (Exposure at Default).
    • Implement corrective actions and report any breaches of tolerance limits to senior management.

    Job Requirements:

    • Chartered Accountant / MBA
    • 15+ years of experience in retail credit/ risk space with bank of repute / NBFCs
    • Knowledge of regulations around retail and corporate finance
    • Ability to derive industry insights and analyze best practices across the industry
    • Ability to analyze the portfolio risk and to deal with big-ticket customers
    • Strategic and analytical thinking
