    Program Manager

    Virbhu India Pvt Ltd – Vadodara (Gujarat), a wholly owned subsidiary of AK Power Solutions (USA), operating in the field of power electronics, has an immediate opening for a Program Manager.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Program Manager to join our Research and Development (R&D) Facility in Vadodara, Gujarat.

    The position is responsible for coordinating high-performance solid-state electronics power conversion vendors and professionals. This position requires an experienced professional with a proven track record of excellence and managerial achievement. The candidate is an accomplished program/project manager and/or systems engineer of rectifier, inverter, battery or other power electronics products, with strong organizational capabilities and the ability to influence and coordinate with talented engineering teams and stakeholders, for a seamless technical program development. The candidate communicates effectively to ensure each individual team member remains aware of the most relevant program milestones, and deliveries expectations. The project manager ensures that critical issues are identified, actions plans to address are promptly created and senior management is notified and kept aware.

    Responsibilities:

    • Project manage power converter development projects from inception through manufacturing release and launch coordinating through influence cross function engineering, supply chain and manufacturing functions.
    • Develop and maintain the product development timeline and resource requirements.
    • Drive the project activities in accordance with the product development timeline including product and engineering requirements definition, supplier selection, design release, prototyping, engineering testing, process development, validation and type testing, field testing, quality plan development, manufacturing plan development.
    • Drive key decisions (technical, project timing, supplier decisions, change management) that impact project completion.
    • Take ownership and resolve any roadblocks such as technical issues, supplier issues, organizational issues, manufacturing issues.
    • Develop a plan to support milestones and requirements for the growth initiatives.
    • Develop a technology acquisition roadmap to support the execution of the product roadmap
    • Lead the development of design with independent vendors and testing infrastructure required to support power conversion devices.
    • Contribute to and manage the power converter technology roadmap.

    Qualifications:

    • BS in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or closely related field. MS or PhD would be a plus
    • Must have experience with project management of rectifier, inverter or power electronics converter development projects.
    • Experience with best practices and tools for development of power electronics-based products.
    • Strong technical understanding of the fundamentals of power electronics systems and devices such as Thyristors, Si-IGBT and SiC-MOSFET based switching devices and circuits.
    • Experience with a systems approach to engineering product development including demonstrated ability to bring together teams from different engineering disciplines.
    • Experienced with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, GANTT charts, critical path identification.
