    Description

    As a Packaging Procurement Head for a leading FMCG brand you will be responsible for , developing and executing procurement strategies including inbound supply chain and indirect purchases of packaging materials for production of food, beverages and non foods.

    Lead the department and oversaw the productivity agenda with R&D, Operations and Marketing and drove value-adding innovation projects.

    Change and Stakeholder Management

    • Category Management for all Packaging items which includes preforms, closures, cups, tubs, jars and bottles.
    • Other materials handled include cartons, tetra pack, corrugated boxes, tinplate containers, Aluminium foil lids, SMP, Butter, cultures, Sugar etc.
    • Lead the transition of sourcing activities from Third party manufacturing to own manufacturing.
    • Activities on NPD sourcing included vendor development, vendor qualification by CQA, negotiating costs/MOQ, capacity planning, stabilisation of supplies etc
    • Deliver Cost Saving Initiatives involving Multi Year Vendor Partnership projects, Disintermediation, Alternate Vendor Developments, Substitution, Core Supplier Agreements, Localisation, Bundling, Payment Term Harmonisation, Reverse Auctions / RFQ's, Low Cost Destination Sourcing, Identifying vendors with Backward Integration, Forward buying etc.
    • Work on Risk Management Projects (Financial Stability Evaluation, Business Continuity Planning, Supplier Diversity, Shortening Supply Chain etc.)
    • Deliver Sustainability targets (Plastic usage reduction-Thinning/Drum Upsizing etc.)
