    About the Role

    We are a fast-paced startup seeking a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager with a blend of deep technical expertise and strong leadership skills. In this critical role, you will leverage your 10+ years of experience to guide the development and delivery of innovative machine learning features for our conversational AI SaaS product. You will be a technical leader and a people manager, actively participating in architecture and design discussions, making key technical decisions, and fostering a collaborative and high-growth environment for your team.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on building and maintaining machine learning features within our conversational AI SaaS product. (Highlight Conversational AI focus)
    • Startup Experience Preferred: Thrive in a fast-paced environment where agility and adaptability are key.
    • Partner with product management to define the technical roadmap, translating business goals into actionable engineering plans.
    • Deep Technical Expertise: Actively participate in architecture and design discussions, providing core technical knowledge and making sound technical decisions to ensure the success of the product.
    • Develop and implement technical strategies and best practices for machine learning development and deployment, specifically for conversational AI applications.
    • Drive the development process using Agile methodologies, ensuring high-quality code, efficient resource allocation, and adherence to deadlines.
    • Management: Provide hands-on technical leadership to your team, guiding development efforts, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and ensuring the team meets project milestones.
    • Mentor and coach individual engineers, fostering their technical growth and career development.
    • Build and maintain a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
    • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in machine learning technologies and best practices, particularly those relevant to conversational AI.

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on machine learning.
    • Proven experience building and leading engineering teams, particularly in a SaaS or startup environment, with a history of successful management using Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
    • Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between technical and business aspects of software development.
    • In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their practical application, with a focus on techniques used in conversational AI (e.g., natural language processing, dialogue management).
    • Expertise in Python and the React stack , Redux, etc.)
    • Experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
    • Proficient knowledge of Jira and Git: Utilize these tools effectively for project management, issue tracking, version control, and collaboration within the development team.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on time and within budget.
    • A passion for building innovative and scalable software products.

    Bonus Points

    • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
    • Experience with DevOps methodologies and tools
    • Experience in building and maintaining large-scale machine learning pipelines
    • Prior experience building conversational AI products (Major Plus)
