    About This Opportunity

    Responsibilities:

    As an Engineering Manager, you are joining a multidisciplinary team of engineers who create digital products that thousands of people experience every day. We are seeking a creative, hands-on, talented engineer to be a member of the 7-Eleven Global platform development team. As an Engineering Manager, your primary focus will be,

    • Manage and grow engineering teams, projects, performance, and career growth of engineers.
    • Communicate roadmaps with the team, leaders, and stakeholders.
    • Partner with various teams to determine scope and estimate development effort.
    • Lead systems design, architecture, and scaling discussions.
    • Influence adoption of industry standards.

    You will also ensure that the components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. If required, you must be willing to wear any of the other hats that is required to make the project successful and always ready to learn new technology on the fly and deliver the results.

    Qualifications

    · 8+ years of experience with development and designing applications with Microservices architecture.

    · 4+ years of experience developing with large microservice-based architectures, AWS infrastructure.

    · 5+ years of experience in relational or non-relational database management systems.

    · 4+ years of people management experience, managing engineers.

    • Deep knowledge to create standards-compliant, cross-browser, mobile compatible front-end code with responsive design.
    • Deep knowledge of server-side and front-end performance optimization.
    • Provides technical oversight across systems and applications; leverage skills across multiple apps.
    • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams. Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
    • Responsible for delivery of end results and shares responsibility for budget management which directly impacts the apps support area; accountable for resource planning.
    • Performs controlled resolution of incidents and issues including prioritization and escalation to relevant groups when appropriate, root cause analysis of all problems with follow-through to resolution.
    • Exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information with all cross functional partners.

    Educational & Required Qualifications:

    · Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

    · Experience building applications using NodeJS, Java and/or React.

    · Familiarity with modern build pipelines and tools.

    · Familiarity with code versioning Git (Gitlab).

    · Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA.
