    Job Title: Program Associate/Manager

    Location: Parel, Mumbai

    Position Type: Full-Time

    Organization: Smya India, CSR arm of Podar Education Network

    About Us:

    Samya India is a non-profit organization dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of homeless communities around Mumbai. Our mission is to provide nutritious meals to homeless clusters across Mumbai.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a passionate and dedicated candidate to lead our 'Feeding the Homeless' Drive initiative. The Program Associate/Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing food distribution events, managing volunteers, developing partnerships with local homeless communities, and engaging in social media outreach to ensure the success and sustainability of our feeding program.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Program Planning and Strategy:

    • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing programs for the homeless community.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the Feeding the Homeless Drive.
    • Conduct surveys and assessments of homeless clusters in the city.
    • Set program goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making necessary adjustments.
    • Collaborate with the Program Head to ensure effective project implementation.

    2. Food Procurement and Distribution:

    • Coordinate procurement of raw ingredients, fresh vegetables, and other local vendors for the industrial kitchen.
    • Plan and execute meal preparation with the kitchen team following a fixed menu and complying with health and safety regulations.
    • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure effective project implementation.
    • Conduct food distribution drives in the community.
    • Ensure equitable and efficient food distribution to homeless individuals and families.
    • Build rapport with local volunteers and the homeless community to understand their needs.

    3. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Assist in maintaining records of program activities, including meal drives and other programs.
    • Prepare regular reports on program outcomes, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Collate case studies and individual stories of impact and change.
    • Utilize data to inform program improvements and decision-making.
    • Provide administrative support to program managers and the program team.

    4. Community Engagement:

    • Collaborate with other departments such as PR and Marketing, Resource Mobilization, and Procurement.
    • Engage in social media outreach to raise awareness about our feeding program and engage with the community.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's/Masters degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Social Sciences, etc.) preferred.
    • Freshers are welcomed to apply.
    • Previous experience in non-profit work, social services, or community outreach is a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with diverse populations.
    • Organizational and time-management skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and data management tools.
