    You will be working as R&D Senior Engineer at global grade 12 and will be part of Process Automation business area for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be responsible for Initiating and driving technology, software, product or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product or software or solution architecture. Acting as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) or software development or product engineering for in-depth product or technology-related issues.

    Your responsibilities

    • Maintaining, designing and further developing core components for the software products and co-owning system architecture by keeping a set of documents up to date. Analyzing and improving efficiency, quality and scalability of the products
    • Working with development manager, system architect and product owner to define scope, features and estimates for new projects. Product Management, sales and engineering teams, analyze customer requirements, generate specifications, provide implementations and deliver working solutions
    • Responsible for analysis and solution of system issues reported by customers or end users with the ability to understand new features or use cases and implement them, ability to understand the existing code
    • Participating in design discussions, documentation and reviews with ABB team as needed. capability of becoming proficient at developing a workflow process, troubleshooting the software and staying current with upgrades, updates and patches
    • Responsible for conceptualization and driving of the design, development, testing and deployment of web and windows applications across the various product lines. Selection of the technology stack and platform for developing the new products within division
    • Collaborating in the productivity improvement initiatives like continuous integration and deployment, DevOps, architect review and proposals etc. for faster and reliable development as well as deployment of the business line products or solutions
    • Planning and making technical training for customer key users or internal team

    Your background

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering
    • Required minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in using C#, ASP.Net MVC, .Net Core, MVC REST API, Angular or React, Node Js, HTML, Ajax, JQuery, Java script, CSS, Bootstrap
    • Having worked in products having interfaces with third party software and product involving proprietary algorithms
    • Having experience in Object oriented programing, Docker containers, Kubernetes, Openshift, SQL, RDBMS, timeseries, No SQL DB, Design patterns, Restful APIs
    • Good understanding and preferably hands-on exposure to Microsoft Azure with Proven experience in product design, architecture and development
    • Excellent coding and problem-solving skills with attention to details, Industrial Automation domain exposure is preferred
    • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environment with CI/CD tools, manufacturing and execution system (MES) domain exposure is preferred
