    Position Summary

    Reporting to: Senior Manager, Training and Design

    Duration: March April 2025

    Directly Managing: 16 Arts Fellows across the regions of Mumbai and Kolkata

    Responsibilities

    As a Training and Design Lead

  • Recruiting and Selecting 16 Arts Fellows across the regions of Mumbai and Kolkata.
  • Oversight on the Arts Fellowship Support design - designing a strong Student and Fellow Curriculum and regional training ecosystems through Teach for India's National Summer Institute and beyond.
  • Working with different verticals to make key decisions related to performance management and support for the Arts Fellows.
  • Working closely with the City Directors, Program Leads, and Regional Training leads of Mumbai and Kolkata to deliver a seamless and integrated experience for the Arts Fellows aligned with the City Ecosystem of support.
  • Playing the role of Instructional Coach and delivering training to Fellows at our 6-week Summer Institute.
  • Building partnerships with external organizations working in the Arts space to provide learning opportunities for students and Fellows.
  • As an Instructional Coach

  • Managing & coaching a group of approximately 16 Year 1 Fellows to achieve ambitious student outcomes in their classrooms and thereby build leadership skills .
  • Helping Fellows understand their children better - the gap to grade, their context, the impact of their current reality, and their role in shifting this.
  • Providing feedback on daily lesson plans, weekly plans, unit plans, assessments, etc.
  • Observing Fellows in their classrooms to understand teacher proficiency, student learning, and classroom culture. This is usually followed by debriefs to drive reflective practice and strengthen Fellow execution.
  • Building a strong culture within the Fellow group and maintain strong relations with the school ecosystem of support.
  • Facilitating and enabling shared learning , support, and strong self and peer accountability within the Learning Circle and School Teams
  • Setting up strong performance management systems for their Learning Circle towards ambitious goals
  • Creating differentiated support plans based on the needs of Fellows
  • As a Coach at Teach For India

  • Contribute to the team goals and priorities beyond individual goals and priorities
  • Drive internal alignment and support Teach For India's core programs.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the Teach For India brand and an advocate for our work and for educational equity in our country through both internal and external communication after committing time in our classrooms to understand our work more deeply
  • Support with key organizational priorities like Institute, Selection, Volunteer Management
  • Clarify and reinforce adherence to organizational and school policies , practices and procedures within their Learning Circles.

    Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations

  • 4+ years coaching experience mainly with teachers/teacher trainers/teacher-coaches
  • Deep empathy and belief in people and relationships with proficiency in adult learning, people development and coaching
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence, enroll, invest and motivate others towards predetermined outcomes
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and generating clarity for self and others.
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to analyze trends and propose recommendations
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Strong project planning and management skills for a large-scale project with multiple people across diverse teams
