    Job Summary:


    Deputy General Manager/Associate Director of HCC Coding is a pivotal role in the healthcare administration structure, focused on leading the Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC) coding operations.

    This position demands an expert level of understanding in HCC coding, robust management skills, and a comprehensive grasp of healthcare regulations, with a significant emphasis on Medicare risk adjustment.


    Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership:
    Lead the strategic planning and execution of HCC coding practices, aligning with organizational goals and compliance requirements.


    Team Management:
    Oversee a large team of coding professionals, ensuring continuous professional development and adherence to high performance standards.


    Compliance and Auditing:
    Develop and enforce stringent compliance protocols, conduct regular audits, and ensure adherence to all applicable federal and state regulations.


    Advanced Analytics:
    Utilize advanced analytics to monitor coding accuracy and effectiveness, identifying trends and implementing enhancements in coding practices.


    Stakeholder Engagement:
    Act as the primary coding liaison with external regulatory bodies, internal leadership, and other stakeholders.


    Policy/Procedure Implementation:
    Craft and revise coding policies and procedures to incorporate latest coding standards, healthcare updates, and technological advancements.


    Budget Management:
    Manage the department's budget, ensuring resource optimization and cost-effective operations.


    Qualifications:

    Education:
    Master's degree preferred.


    Experience:


    Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in medical coding ( specifically managing HCC coding operations), with a minimum of 6 years in a leadership role.


    Certifications:
    RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or similar coding certification is required. Advanced certification in risk adjustment coding preferred.

    Skills:

    Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, advanced knowledge of medical coding software and EHR systems, and a proven track record in improving coding processes and compliance.


    Knowledge:
    Deep understanding of Medicare risk adjustment, HCC methodologies, and the impact of coding on financial performance.


    Additional Requirements:
    Preferred Candidates from Similar industry

    Proven ability to lead and inspire a team in a dynamic and changing environment.

    Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale medical coding operations.

    Strong communication skills, capable of effectively negotiating and resolving conflicts.
