    Field Service Engineer / Associate Field Service Engineer

    You will be working as Field Service Engineer / Associate Field Service Engineer at global grade 14/15 and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Senior Engineering Manager and will be responsible for executing service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. Delivering quality customer service to satisfy customers.

    Your responsibilities

    • Performing medium to high complex service tasks including programming, testing, installation and commissioning of Automaton system (DCS/ PLC) for Process Industry, engineering of Automation system and field instruments, performing preventive, predictive, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution on ABB Automation system used in Process and Industrial plants
    • Ensuring customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Taking the ownership and ensuring customer queries or system related issues are resolved on time. Developing and maintaining a good relationship with customers through professional approach and understanding their needs
    • Identifying new sales opportunities, supporting customer in defining requirements for system upkeep, including spare parts, software, upgrades and optimization. Keeping updated on developments in technology, product and ensuring high level of awareness on ABB solutions portfolio
    • Ensuring that HSE practices are of high standard, working to eliminate unsafe practices, incidents, being aware, adhering to the safety procedures and requirements at work locations
    • Preparing and maintaining maintenance check list and activity list. Preparing documents and procedures for system maintenance, standard operating procedures, backup and recovery procedures
    • Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future and troubleshooting hardware and software problems with the help of his own experience, system documentation and through collaboration with other colleagues

    Your background

    • Diploma or B E in Electronics, Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum 5 to 9 years of work experience in Industrial Automation in Oil and Gas, Power or Process Industry
    • Experience in Programming, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning in DCS or PLC systems is required, with onsite work experience
    • Experience in any of ABB automation platforms of System 800xA, Symphony, Advant (AC450, AC460) or freelance is preferable
