    You will be working as Product Owner at global grade 13 and will be part of Process Automation business area for Process Control Platform division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Head of Engineering and will be responsible for contributing significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP) by identifying, proposing and implementing innovative solutions. Acting as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) or software development or product engineering for specific product-related issues and maintenance.

    Your responsibilities

    • Responsible for backlog management, managing the backlog of features, enhancements, and technical debt related to the engineering and system, prioritizing items based on business value, customer needs and technical feasibility
    • Product owner helps in defining the overall vision for the DCS engineering product. This involves understanding the long-term goals and desired outcomes
    • Collaborating with stakeholders balancing functionality, performance and usability. Conducting user research to understand the needs, pain points and expectations of operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel
    • Working closely with development teams, system architects and quality assurance (QA) engineers. Facilitating communication and resolving any conflicts
    • Stakeholder Communication, presenting proposals for new features or improvements to stakeholders (management, clients, and end-users). Gathering feedback and incorporating it into the product roadmap
    • Collaborating with cybersecurity experts to safeguard the DCS against threats. Implementing safety features to prevent accidents or system failures and also ensuring necessary compliance fullfilled
    • Regularly reviewing and refining the product backlog. Adapting to changing market conditions, technological advancements, analyzing and working on customer issues and taking this feedback back for product improvements
    • Providing tools and support for L3 or field personnel. In summary, a Product Owner for DCS engineering products acts as a bridge between R&D teams, Product Manager and divisions or customers

    Your background

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering
    • Required with 10 – 12 years experience in Industrial Automation Domain, ABB DCS systems and engineering, Understanding and hands on with IEC 61131's five programming languages
    • Good knowledge in Owning Ux or UI workflow
    • Basic proficiency in understanding and interpreting software architecture or design
