    Description

    Job Purpose

    Ensures completion of electrical maintenance jobs with the highest level of quality, safety, and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximize equipment availability. Ensures smooth running of the unit and gives regular feedback. Coordinates other section engineers and give support when required.

    Job Outline

    The Assistant Manager Electrical will be pivotal in overseeing electrical infrastructure and systems at the Indian School of Business (ISB) campus. They will be responsible for managing electrical projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining campus electrical systems to foster a conducive learning and working environment for students, faculty, and staff.

    Job Specification / Knowledge / Education / Specific Skills / Desirable Experience

    Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

    Sound understanding of electrical systems, components, and construction methods.

    Proficiency in project management tools and software.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work effectively under pressure.

    4-6 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering and project management.

    Project Oversight

    Lead and manage electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project objectives, timelines, and budgetary constraints.

    Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and technicians to oversee the implementation of electrical systems and infrastructure - 25%

    Electrical System Maintenance

    Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards.

    Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules (PPM) to ensure the efficient operation of electrical systems.

    Coordinate with maintenance teams to promptly address electrical breakdowns and blackouts, ensuring minimal disruptions to campus operations.

    Maintain accurate history cards documenting maintenance activities, breakdowns, and blackout incidents for reference and analysis - 20%

    Regulatory Compliance

    Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards applicable to campus facilities.

    Obtain necessary permits and approvals for electrical installations and modifications as required by regulatory authorities.

    Implement training programs for electrical staff to ensure awareness and compliance with safety protocols - 15%

    Substation Management

    Oversee the maintenance and operation of campus substations to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

    Conduct regular inspections and testing of substation equipment to identify and address potential issues.

    Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards for substation operations - 15%

    Training and Compliance

    Implementation of training programs for electrical staff to ensure awareness and compliance with safety protocols.

    Maintenance of logs and records of electrical maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance checks - 10%

    Budgetary Management

    Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for electrical projects and maintenance activities.

    Monitor expenditures and manage project costs to ensure adherence to budgetary allocations.

    Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficient resource allocation while maintaining quality and safety standards - 10%

    Team Supervision

    Provide supervision and direction to electrical technicians and support staff involved in electrical projects and maintenance activities.

    Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to promote teamwork, efficiency, and productivity.

    Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to facilitate their professional growth and development - 5%
