- Develop and implement comprehensive quality management systems and processes to ensure adherence to international standards and customer requirements.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality and monitor performance against targets, taking proactive measures to address any deviations.
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections of production facilities, raw materials, and finished products to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to evaluate and qualify new suppliers, conducting thorough assessments of their quality systems and capabilities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, providing guidance and support to improve their quality performance and reliability.
- Implement supplier development programs to drive continuous improvement and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
- Stay abreast of relevant regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements related to product safety, environmental sustainability, and labor practices.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international regulations, including but not limited to, labor laws, environmental regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees at all levels to enhance their understanding of quality standards, processes, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement, encouraging cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Identify potential quality risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent issues from arising during production or post-production stages.
- Establish robust systems for non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action to address quality issues effectively.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the quality and audit teams, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and high performance.
- Set clear goals and objectives for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to support their growth and development.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, teamwork, and open communication.
- Bachelor's degree in textile engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality management roles within the apparel/textile industry, with a focus on denim and woven products.
- Proven track record of implementing quality management systems, driving process improvements, and achieving measurable results.
- Strong understanding of international quality standards, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the apparel/textile industry.
- Experience working in multinational companies with overseas operations and exposure to global markets is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve common goals.
- Effective problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with proficiency in other languages being an advantage.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
