    Who we are looking for

    Global Delivery is a critical part of the business operations at State Street. We have around 30,000 staff various locations around the world including our key hubs in EMEA, APAC and North America and our global hubs in Hangzhou, China, Krakow and Gdansk in Poland, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore, Pune and Vijawada in India.

    Functionally, we are the backbone and nerve center supporting the entire investment servicing lifecycle across our key asset classes - Asset Management, Asset Owners, Insurance, Alternatives including PE, RE and Hedge and the Official Institutions and a wide spectrum of investment servicing products.

    Global Delivery India is an integral part of our global operations delivering custody, accounting, fund administration, alternatives, middle office, transfer agency and on-boarding services across multiple client segments, investment structures and domiciles.

    State Street is in the midst of the next evolution of its IT and Operations operating mode with the end state goal of delivering a seamless experience to its institutional clients around the world. As part of this transformation effort in India, we seek to hire a India Head of Global Delivery Transformation , a part of the GD India management. This role drives the strategic discussions with State Street India Exco on Operations as a strategic leverage to achieve business ambition, deliver transformation and innovation goals.

    This role is advertised to be in Bangalore. While this role is advertised to be in Bangalore we are open to considering candidates who are based in other India locations and as such the role could be location agnostic in a location where we have a significant presence in India.

    What you will be responsible for

    Critical business priorities:

  • Drive strategic discussions with GD India management team on Operations as a strategic leverage to achieve business ambition, deliver transformation and innovation goals
  • Evolve the operating model
  • Significantly improve the control environment and productivity

    • Role Definition:

  • Leader will be responsible for critically evaluating our current operating model and designing and executing a market leading future state operating model
  • Understand the current structure and operating model at State Street including hand offs, process flow and delivery across both Home sites & global In-house centers
  • Bring an outside-in-view to best in class process re-engineering tools to critically evaluate the current state model and understand efficiency and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop large scale transformation strategies across the in-house center with a view to overhaul and redesign the operating mode to focus on client experience, automation, efficiency and process improvements using best in class tools, but not limited to robotics, Six Sigma, LEAN etc
  • Responsible for leading the Global Delivery Simplification Transformation initiatives across India
  • Collaborates with Operations, Transformation and Technology teams to ensure the core pillars of the program are understood and fully adopted and operational requirements are clear and tested.
  • Assess India performance of the program against benefit and outcome targets (Financial & non-financial), manage risks and issues and take corrective measurements.
  • Partner with the leadership to execute on these process re-engineering changes globally
  • Develop the Pan India workforce to a next generation digital model - including business, IT and corporate teams

    • At Managing Director level we require senior leadership and advanced skills in areas such as:

  • Navigate a large, global organization. Build meaningful relationships and develop an effective network.
  • Work successfully in a matrixed environment. Effectively manage multiple stakeholders, determine highest priorities for the organization, identify and resolve contention between directives.
  • Proven leadership skills as well as managing and developing a high performing operation team.
  • Excellent time management, presentation skills and communication to multiple levels (clients, other 3rd parties, executives, peers, subordinates). Flexibility across multiple communication formats
  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding financial goals through expense discipline and headcount management.
  • Experience with change management programs in sponsorship, leadership roles. Demonstrated ability to execute under challenging circumstances and deliver targeted outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and influence colleagues and virtual team members.
  • Cross-cultural awareness and the ability to connect with colleagues globally in a collaborative, open work environment. To serve as a role model of acceptance and flexibility in dealing with colleagues with varying backgrounds.

    • The candidate for the Head of Transformation India role will possess and/or be able to demonstrate:

  • A proven track record at a senior level in client facing role such as business and IT relationship management, account management, delivery executive, or related disciplines with Excom Level
  • 18 years + experience in financial services presently in a leadership role, having managed large scale transformation roles.
  • Strong Stakeholder and Relationship Management skills
  • In-depth understanding of the linkage between information technology and business value
  • Operations experience program managing large scale initiatives and implementations
  • Strategic thinker with an ability to effectively partner with Operations and Transformation leads, technology partners and senior management
  • Creative and analytical ability in problem resolution and troubleshooting
  • Collaborative leadership and work style
