    Description

    We are an early-stage startup dedicated to revolutionizing the way people explore and experience their cities. We are on a mission to connect local businesses with residents and visitors, helping them discover the hidden gems of their city. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Bangalore. To succeed in this role, you should have preferred experience developing leads from marketing, events & social media campaigns, and meeting sales quotas. If you are ambitious, motivated, and results-driven and enjoy working in a team environment, we'd like to meet you.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Educate, strategize, and successfully onboard new vendors
    • Persistently pursue new leads, and identify prospective leads through warm and cold calling
    • You will help manage and oversee relationships with new and existing partners through high-touch networking, lead generation, and market research.
    • Leads generation from industry/company events, social media outreach, and others
    • Own the entire proposal process: identify customer needs, develop win themes, and produce complete proposals
    • Assess the competitive landscape and track key market trends and developments
    • Provide administrative support as well as excellent customer service and smooth communications
    • Maintain the database using your organizational skills to streamline processes and clean up the data
    • Collating and maintaining vendor's information in the CRM database
    • Qualify leads with research, identify decision-makers, and generate interest in our platform
    • Work closely with the marketing & leadership team on strategy, communication, and updates
    • Maintain a strong work ethic and tenacity to consistently meet and exceed monthly sales goals
    • Engage in 60 business calls per day
    • Ability to communicate and convince product offerings effectively to the vendors
    • Recognize recurring issues, trends, and competitive threats. Identify improvement areas
    • Handle and resolve all tickets raised by existing and new vendors
    • Actively convert leads and generate new ways of vendor acquisition
    • Work towards the consistent growth of vendors, resolve concerns, and share actionable insights
    • Frequent and consistent interactions with vendors in person, on call, in their language choice
    • Conduct field visits to meet the vendors, collect and share feedback report
    • Handle email & WhatsApp conversations with potential leads

    EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENT

    • Bachelor's with 1+ years of experience in the sales domain
    • Knowledge of e-commerce space and how digital commerce works (Preferred)
    • An enthusiastic go-getter with a confident personality and a pleasing demeanor
    • Should have in-depth knowledge of Bangalore City's neighborhoods and local businesses
    • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills and should be backed with data & numbers
    • Fluency with English, Hindi & Kannada language
    • Should be comfortable using digital tools and platforms for data management.
    • Must be able to commute within the city and do in-person meetings occasionally
    • Good negotiation and influencing skills
    • Should have a working knowledge of MS Office
    • Self-motivated and goal-oriented
    • Passionate about supporting local businesses
    • Should be able to think on your feet and adapt according to the situation while facing new challenges or having tough conversations, failure is not an option.
    • Willing to work 6 days a week

    IDEAL CANDIDATE

    • High proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English, Kannada, Hindi
    • A creative problem solver at heart who thrives in a team environment.
    • High level of motivation with results orientation
    • Have an appetite for learning and action
    • A candidate with relevant sales experience in the e-commerce domain is a plus
    • Good analytical skills and a passion for solving problems
    • Possess an action-oriented mindset and have a zeal for converting ideas into concrete actions
    • Curiosity and like to ask as many questions as it takes to find the right answer
    • Excited about working in a startup environment and being a part of working on big mission
    • Hunger to deliver, matched with resilience when things don't go our way the first time
    • Ability to make decisions in the face of ambiguity
    • Willingness to roll up our sleeves to get things done

    • Have an innate ability to connect with people, and inspire passion in others
