    About the role

    As the Project Manager – Engineering, your primary responsibility will be to lead the delivery of engineering projects as per agreed scope, time, and budget.

    The engineering projects you will manage help achieve key outcomes linked to our organization's mission and vision. These projects enable 'Solving for Billions' by architecting open National Platforms that facilitate accessible, efficient, and transparent service delivery to ordinary citizens in vital areas such as water, sanitation, health, urban, and public finance management.

    Broadly the role focuses on managing the end to end project life cycle including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, internal coordination, project reporting, change and risk management. Taking decisive action, ensuring mitigation of identified risks, coordinating work across teams, ensuring timely resolution of issues / escalations will be a key part of what you do to keep the project on track, meet stakeholder commitments and contribute to achievement of organization vision.

    We are seeking motivated and talented project management professionals familiar with J2EE-related technologies, a passion for Nation-building, and a commitment to developing world-class technology solutions. The ideal candidate would also possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of successful project delivery.

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Platform/Product Engineering, Product Team, Solution Engineering, Mission Teams, and DevOps) to identify, track, and resolve dependencies, ensuring timely delivery.
    • Establish project management processes and guidelines, ensuring alignment with defined goals and driving activities towards successful outcomes.
    • Serve as a central point of contact for all Product/Platform Delivery tracks, providing updates, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation plans.
    • Facilitate planning meetings and publish release plans with milestones in coordination with Platform, Product, Mission, and Engineering teams.
    • Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders, fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams.
    • Manage and ensure robust project management practices are deployed for each phase of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including system analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
    • Understand and promote architectural and development best practices.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, making informed decisions on technology choices and architectural strategies.
    • Conduct regular change management sessions to address technology updates, collaborating with Architects.
    • Coach team members of the development team and facilitate the deployment of effective project management practices at eGov.

    Required Skills & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in any stream with IT experience.
    • 8-12 years of total IT experience with 4+ years in a project delivery environment handling multiple projects simultaneously.
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience on at least one Project Management tool preferably open source is a must.
    • Hands-on experience in Java stacked development projects.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple software/technology projects across locations is a must.
    • Strong presentation skills, capable of communicating effectively with Senior leadership and business leaders is a must.
    • Exposure to urban governance, public sector, development sector, or consulting is a plus.
    • Ability to thrive in a small-organization setting, valuing teamwork and resourcefulness.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively, requiring minimal supervision.
    • Knowledge of various technologies including J2EE, dynamic languages, Springboot, Web Services, and Design Patterns is preferred.
    • Knowledge in GIT, Maven, Jenkins, YAML/JSON, Open API Contract - Swagger, and Postman is preferred.
    • Knowledge of microservice architecture, Docker, Kafka, Kubernetes, and REST concepts is preferred
    • Knowledge of Python and Analytics is advantageous.
    • Knowledge with Postgres/PSql or any other SQL database.
    • Knowledge of Elasticsearch, NodeJS, and ReactJS is preferred.
    • Strong decision-making skills and ability to consolidate abstract concepts from different teams.
    • Proven experience leading teams through end-to-end development and implementation processes.
