    Virbhu India Pvt Ltd – Vadodara (Gujarat), a wholly owned subsidiary of AK Power Solutions (USA), operating in the field of power electronics, has an immediate opening for a Power Converter Engineering manager. Come join us in this exciting quest to lead innovation to develop first to the world power electronics-based power converters for fast growing markets such as Electric Vehicle Charging.

    This pivotal role involves guiding an engineering team dedicated to developing cutting-edge power system solutions. You will be instrumental in recruiting and assembling a high-caliber team specialized in medium and high voltage power systems, driving the design, development, and implementation of next-generation technology for Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging and Renewable Energy markets.

    Responsibilities

    • Technical authority within the Medium Voltage R&D team, "go to" person for technical decisions, reviews of simulation results, engineering designs and test plans and reports including technical support.
    • Specialist in his Technical field, assist Execution Canter management in elaborating alternative/future solutions and resolving key technical issues.
    • Responsible for the packaging of medium voltage section switchgear and other components of power converters.
    • Lead evaluations of technical solutions HW and controls architectures for ongoing product development
    • Owner of the technical roadmap for High Voltage and Medium Voltage AC drives switchgear.
    • Coaching and developing the R&D team in technical matters.
    • Give technical advice and assistance to other product development personnel as to medium voltage switchgear and integration the same Power electronics/main circuit specification, simulations, and design.
    • Responsible for electrical engineering design work
    • Performing Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis)
    • One line and three-line diagrams
    • Conducting arc-flash hazard calculations to determine arc-flash boundaries and required PPE.
    • Protective relay and metering one line / three-line diagrams
    • Panel Layouts.
    • Equipment layouts and sectional views
    • Connection Diagrams
    • Bill of Materials
    • Determine capacity, develop Feeder, and Cable Schedules
    • Developing construction and equipment specifications
    • Supporting field and lab testing of power converters
    • Grounding layouts
    • Reviewing engineering work performed by team.

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a Master's or PhD being advantageous.


    • Proven experience in the design of power systems switchgear and other power components for medium and high voltage applications.


    • 8 – 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
