    Description:
    To build, maintain and support embedded software solutions with a commitment to delivering a quality solution on time and to agreed customer standards
    Contribute to requirement gathering, specification creation and design as requiredContribute to project planning by providing input on estimates and detailing dependencies Complete the development of new functionality and modifications to existing functionality on/with embedded devices according to project requirements and planDevelop solutions with minimum defectsEnsure timelines are met in implementationsEnsure all functionality delivered with regression / unit testsComplete software documentation, ensuring it is in accordance with good coding practicesEnsure product documentation is updated and submittedEnsure customer specific application solutions are in line with the customer and company requirements

    Requirements:
    Qualification in Engineering, Physics or equivalent practical experience7 years embedded software development experience within a constrained environmentAn understanding of electronics; interpreting electronic schematicsUnderstand fundamentals of digital design and communication protocols such as; asynchronous, serial, RS232, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, SPI, I2CProficient in C / C++ and Assembler languagesExperience using embedded tools; compilers, debuggers, JTAG, protocol analysers, RTOS or OSes Experience with Version Control Systems (CVS / Subversion)Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

    Desirable:
    Embedded Linux x86 / ARMJAVA Ability to promote a test driven development approachAbility to use general electronic lab equipment; oscilloscope, protocol analyser, logic analyser
