    Firewall Administrator


    Position Overview :
    The Firewall Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the organization's firewall infrastructure.

    This role involves ensuring the security of the network perimeter, monitoring network traffic, troubleshooting firewall-related issues, and implementing firewall policies in alignment with the organization's security requirements.


    Key Responsibilities :

    • Design, deploy, and configure firewall solutions to protect the organization's network infrastructure.
    • Develop and maintain firewall policies, rules, and access controls based on security best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor network traffic for security breaches, unauthorized access attempts, and other suspicious activities.
    • Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of firewall configurations to identify and address security gaps.
    • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate firewall solutions with existing network infrastructure and security systems.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve firewall-related issues and incidents.
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies to proactively enhance the organization's firewall defenses.
    • Conduct periodic firewall performance tuning and optimization to ensure optimal network performance and security posture.
    • Document firewall configurations, policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans as they relate to firewall infrastructure.

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
    • Proven experience working as a firewall administrator or network security engineer.
    • In-depth knowledge of firewall technologies, including but not limited to, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Check Point, Fortinet, and Juniper.
    • Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
    • Hands-on experience with firewall administration, configuration management, and troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001, etc.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
    • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Firewall Administrator (CFA), or equivalent, are a plus.
