    Mainframe Programming Analyst - Pune, India - EDGESOFT

    Description

    Role & Responsibilities :

    • Over 10 years of handson experience in delivering Mainframe solutions.
    • Analyse the existing Mainframe code written in COBOL, JClL, DB2
    • Document the orchestration and dependencies between programs.
    • Create source to target mappings with business transformation logic for every COBOL program which will enable the project team to migrate the mainframe program to cloud native solutions
    • Provide a walkthrough of every program along with source to target mapping to the project team

    Primary Skills/Must have :

    • Must demonstrate strong technical and business leadership skills
    • Strong Cobol, JCL, DB2, CICS experience
    • Experience in analysing and developing mainframe programs
    • Experience in MQ and DB2stored procedure
    • Experience creating/consuming data in relational database environments (preferably DB2, SQL)
    • Proficiency in utilities such as SORT, Compare, IDCAMS and IEB utilities
    • Detail oriented, ability to turn deliverables around quickly with high degree of accuracy
    • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret business requirements and produce functional and technical design documents
    • Good time management skills :
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask, handling multiple efforts at once Strong written and oral communications skills are a must

    Secondary Skills/Desired skills :

    • Experience in REXX and Easytrieve.
    • Exposure to tools such as Changeman.
    • Know how of Native stored procedures
    • Good to have experience in CICS web services.
    • Have experience in a retail domain
