    Position Summary

    Position Summary: Position requires experience withoutside plant and inside plant cable construction in aerial andunderground facilities with a thorough knowledge of all issuesrelated to local and state permitting pole and conduit licensingprocedures from Utilities and the ability to manage multipleprojects simultaneously. Position also requires the capability tomanage multiple construction contractors. From projectqualification and design through punchlist and closeout the FiberConstruction Manager will ensure that projects are completed toclient and internal specification on time and withinbudget.

    EssentialJob Functions:

    Work hand in hand withFiber Engineers.

    Manage all external vendorsnecessary for timely completion and within budget.

    Conduct initial constructability review in accordancewith project specifications.

    DevelopConstruction Bid Package and competitively bid project tosubcontractors.

    Manage development of permitand construction plans;

    Order and trackdelivery of 3rd party materials;

    Oversee siteconstruction managing schedule and subcontractors to customer andinternal requirements.

    Coordinate allconstruction activities with local and state agencies with regardsto permitting and licensing.

    Attend company andclient status meetings.

    Provides communicationon milestones on time delivery and general updates to leadershipand project management/service delivery resources within theCompany organization

    Ensure that all jobs aremaintained in a project tracking system with completeaccuracy.

    Act as Company safety observer andQuality Assurance representative while at the site ensuringcompliance with Company safety program and related workmanshippractices.

    Understand prevailing rates for allconstruction work and ensure Company is receiving competitive ratesfor quality work.

    Responsible to negotiatecosts within scope of project hold Vendor accountable to ensurebudget is maintained; ensure Project Managers and customers areaware of issues that will impact project completion orcost.

    Responsible to problem solve issues thatmay occur onsite and make recommendations based on priority andneed to ensure the project and budget are maintained.

    Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Companyconstruction standards processes and procedures.

    Education/Certifications

    High school diploma or equivalent

    Minimum 2 year technical degree or equivalent workexperience

    A valid drivers licenserequired

    Experience/MinimumRequirements

    One (1) to three (3)years construction experience one (1) to three (3) years directtelecommunications experience with three (3) years of supervisorycontractor construction experience preferred

    Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial &underground) preferred

    Familiarity with testequipment and techniques for performing Grounding and Bonding TestsRF Sweep test OTDR Optical Power Meter and Passive Intermodulation(PIM) testing preferred

    Working knowledge ofNESC NEC and OSHA standards preferred

    OtherSkills/Abilities

    Preference will begiven to candidates with BSCE or equivalent workexperience

    Excellentorganizational/administrative skills

    Strongproject management skills with attention to details

    Strong interpersonal skills with a high level ofintegrity

    Strong Microsoft Office (Excel VisioWord and PowerPoint) skills

    Ability to thrivein a dynamic problem solving environment

    Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

    Strong communication skills

    Basictelecommunications experience/knowledge

    PMPcertification a plus

    Working Conditions

    Will be required to travel to project sites with exposureto heavy equipment and environmental conditions between 50% up to90% of the time. Works in a normal office setting with no exposureto adverse environmental conditions between 50% to as few as 10% ofthe time. Position may require on call rotationinvolvement.
